Caltech's Anima Anandkumar and Benedikt Jenik unveiled Accelerated Understanding Inc, an enterprise physics AI built on neural operators rather than Transformers that ingested 5 trillion data points in a single prompt in tests — roughly 5 million times what Anthropic and Google flagships handle. The pair had walked away from a Prometheus offer of a $1–2M salary, 35% stake and $2B in committed Series-A/B financing; Prometheus subsequently closed a $12B Series B in June. Target applications include chip design optimization, robotics, weather prediction and geological analysis.
