Adobe Embeds Firefly, Veo, Runway, Kling, Luma in Premiere

TL;DR

  • Adobe's new Generative Media panel places Firefly, Google Veo, Runway, Kling and Luma inside Premiere Pro's timeline for video and audio generation.
  • After Effects gains a public-beta AI Assistant that handles multi-step tasks like layer reorganization, technical repairs and expression writing across a whole project.
  • Audio upgrades add Separate Crosstalk for overlapping speakers, Dynamic Auto Ducking, and an Enhance Audio panel with per-track dialogue, music, ambience and effects sliders.

Adobe is putting Google Veo, Runway, Kling and Luma alongside its own Firefly model directly inside Premiere Pro's timeline. The new Generative Media panel, announced ahead of IBC 2026 in a blog post by Adobe's Deepa Subramaniam, lets editors pick a model and "generate context-aware, fully editable video and audio clips you can refine and iterate on without leaving your project."

The panel bundles four generation actions: Generate Video, which can use frames pulled from an editor's own project as reference; Generate Sound Effects with voice guidance; Generate Music with tempo and looping controls; and a Generate Soundscape beta that "analyzes up to 15 seconds of video."

After Effects gets its own AI Assistant in public beta. Subramaniam writes that "the AI Assistant works alongside you to help orchestrate multi-step workflows behind the scenes, freeing you up to focus on your craft." The scope covers layer reorganization, technical repairs and expression writing across a whole project, not just a single comp.

On the audio side there is a new Enhance Audio with per-track sliders for dialogue, music, ambience and effects, a Separate Crosstalk tool that splits overlapping speakers into independent tracks, and Dynamic Auto Ducking. Adobe also notes that Premiere is being recognized with an "Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement at the 2026 Emmys."

The post leans on Adobe's own survey line that "nearly nine in ten creators accelerate the growth of their business or audience when they use creative AI tools like Adobe's," softened by the claim that "an overwhelming majority say it's essential that final creative decision-making remains in their hands." Yesterday's Runway ARR story reads differently once the same model sits inside a competing editor, one of 52 video generation stories we have tracked in the last 90 days.
