Six-month-old Israeli startup AIR came out of stealth Sept 1 with a $50M round that Sequoia and Greenoaks co-led weeks apart, joined by Zach Frankel, Yinon Costica, and Anne Neuberger. Its 'inline firewall' discovers running agents, continuously vets their plugins/skills, and blocks malicious instructions before they enter agent context; internal research flagged 17,800+ public AI add-ons with 6.7M installs, including AI Skills impersonating Anthropic and OpenAI that could run arbitrary code on enterprise systems.
