Alibaba Plans 5–10T-Parameter Successor to Qwen, Unveils Zhenwu V900 Chip at Apsara Keynote

Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu used his Apsara keynote in Hangzhou to plan a 5–10T-parameter successor to Qwen (currently ~2.4T) and unveil the Zhenwu V900 AI chip, which the company calls China's most powerful and says triples its predecessor's performance. Clusters of up to 500,000 V900 cards are targeted for frontier training and inference, with mass production set for Q1 2027. Wu also committed Alibaba Cloud to 20 GW of data-center capacity by 2032, extending a previously announced $53B three-year AI spend.
