AlphaGo Co-Creator Thore Graepel Raises Tens of Millions for AI Reasoning Startup Metis Reasoning

Bloomberg reports ex-DeepMind researcher Thore Graepel, a co-creator of AlphaGo who left Alphabet this summer, is raising tens of millions for a new startup called Metis Reasoning targeting robotics, science and engineering. A future tranche worth hundreds of millions at a higher valuation is planned. Graepel's exit follows David Silver's January departure from DeepMind.
