Anthropic reported elevated error rates across claude.ai, platform.claude.com, the Claude API, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork starting at 14:21 UTC on September 29, with a partial mitigation at 14:41 UTC giving way to a second failure that blocked account actions until 14:59 UTC.
During the second wave, the status page said "single sign-on and Sign in with Apple are unavailable," along with new chats, voice conversations, purchases and file uploads, and advised users: "If you're signed in, please don't sign out." Anthropic also warned that "some messages sent between 14:00 and 14:59 UTC may not have been saved."
By 15:30 UTC the company posted that "all services have been operating normally since 14:59 UTC." The status update did not disclose a root cause.
