Anthropic Unifies Claude Chat and Cowork, Adds Slide Export
TL;DR
- Anthropic merged Claude chat and Cowork into one interface that auto-routes across chat, Cowork, Artifacts, and Claude Design.
- New slide creation supports PDF and PowerPoint export, and a Docs surface adds collaborative editing with Claude.
- Pro and Max subscribers get early access over the coming weeks, with free and team tiers following later.
Anthropic has folded its Cowork product into Claude chat, so that a single interface now routes requests across chat, Cowork, Artifacts, and Claude Design without the user picking a mode. TechCrunch's Ivan Mehta reported the change on September 16.
The update adds presentation and document workflows. Users can "create, edit, and present slides" with the option to download as PDF or PowerPoint, and a new Docs surface lets people "work alongside Claude to create sections, ask questions, and comment on completed parts."
Rollout is staged. Pro and Max subscribers get access first over the coming weeks; free and team tiers come later. The features work across web, desktop and mobile, and a task kicked off on one device can be monitored from the phone.
The change sits on top of an upgraded memory layer Anthropic recently shipped for Cowork, one of a run of Anthropic product moves we have tracked this quarter.
