Bain: AI Industry Needs $6T Annual Revenue by 2031 to Justify $5T–$6.5T of Data-Center Buildout

Bain & Company's new Global Technology Report says the global AI industry must earn $6 trillion in annual revenue by 2031 to justify the $5–6.5 trillion of data-center spend it projects by 2030, which adds at least 150 gigawatts of capacity. Existing consumer and enterprise AI products may generate up to $1.8 trillion, leaving a $4.2 trillion gap Bain expects to come from robotics, autonomous machines, drug discovery and energy. Annual AI infrastructure spending could hit $1.5 trillion by 2031.
