The lab's stated audience is "unions, labor organizations, and organizers," and its resource hub "emerged from extensive engagement with unionists across multiple sectors (journalism, entertainment, nursing)" who had already been resisting automation on the job.
The recurring argument, sharpened in the lab's written primers as well, is that "AI worker displacement is a market-strategy move by firms seeking cost savings, not evidence of AI matching job quality." Firms adopt AI, the lab writes, as "a market-oriented move...while finding cost-savings by laying off employees."
