Eightfold CEO launches TwinCafe to send AI twins to interviews
TL;DR
- Eightfold AI CEO Ashutosh Garg launched TwinCafe, letting candidates upload a résumé, LinkedIn profile and work samples to generate a digital twin recruiters interview first.
- Garg's pitch is to swap the first 20 minutes of a screening for a twin interview so the live meeting focuses on 'the human aspect versus the fact-check aspect.'
- He also frames the tool as a scale lever: 'Why limit a screening to five candidates? Why not interview everyone?'
Ashutosh Garg, CEO of Eightfold AI, has launched a product called TwinCafe that lets a job seeker upload a résumé, LinkedIn profile, work samples and other documents to generate a shareable digital twin a recruiter can interview before ever meeting the human. Garg envisions candidates putting the link at the top of their résumé or LinkedIn profile.
The pitch to Fortune is to replace the first 20 minutes of a screening, the walk through the résumé, with a conversation between the recruiter and the twin. "My main motivation was that a résumé is so limiting," Garg said. The twin, he argued, can "fill in the blanks" on parts of a candidate's background that might otherwise raise questions, such as a career break or a move between industries, so the live interview "could be a lot more focused on the human aspect versus the fact-check aspect."
Garg also framed the product as a scale lever: "Why limit a screening to five candidates? Why not interview everyone?" The improvement claim is his too, and the Fortune piece carries no outside recruiter data behind it: "The quality of the interview dramatically improves."
A couple of names in our Who's Who directory were passing the piece around after it ran.
