Google Cloud London Region Hit by Power Event, Takes Down Revolut and UK Banking Services

Google Cloud's europe-west2 London region reported elevated errors and intermittent network failures starting just after 7am local Tuesday, with Google blaming a 'power event' in part of London. Revolut customers lost card payments, transfers, cash-machine withdrawals, FX swaps and share trading, and ING Germany, Halifax, Lloyds, HSBC, NHS England, Royal Mail, Rightmove and DPD reported partial or full outages. Revolut said customer money and data remained safe; Google said it has been working on a fix since identifying the problem.
