Google Ends Gemini Code Assist Sales, Points Buyers to Antigravity

Google Coding Tools ai-business

TL;DR

  • Google will no longer sell new Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise subscriptions as of October 9, 2026.
  • Existing Code Assist subscriptions auto-renew through the rest of 2026, with auto-renewal ending in 2027.
  • Google is steering customers to Antigravity, available via eligible Gemini Enterprise subscriptions or the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.

Google is retiring its standalone paid Gemini Code Assist product. A release note on docs.cloud.google.com, dated October 9, 2026, opens flatly: "Sale of Gemini Code Assist subscriptions is ending."

From that date, "new Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise subscriptions can no longer be purchased." Current customers are not immediately cut off. The note says "Existing subscriptions will continue to auto-renew through the rest of 2026, but auto-renewal will end in 2027."

Google points buyers at a different product. "For alternative AI developer tools, use Antigravity, which is available through eligible Gemini Enterprise subscriptions and through Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform," the note states.

The entry gives no transition pricing, no migration tooling, and no mention of free-tier or Individual Code Assist users. It sits in a steady run of Google releases on our Google tracker, and folds another standalone paid SKU into the Gemini Enterprise bundle.
