Gurman Maps Apple H1 2027: iPhone 18e, MacBook Neo 2, M6 Air

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman maps out an Apple first-half 2027 slate carrying six new devices: an iPhone 18e, a standard iPhone 18 on the A20 chip, an iPhone Air 2 running a version of the A20 Pro, an OLED iPad Air, a second-generation MacBook Neo, and an M6 MacBook Air. Gurman calls it part of "the biggest run of product releases in Apple history."

The iPhone Air 2 reportedly adds a second rear camera and a larger battery, and picks up the iPhone 17 Pro's vapor chamber cooling. The MacBook Neo 2 steps up from the current model's A18 Pro chip with 8GB of RAM to "an A19 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, and new color options" — the same A19 Pro that ships today in the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air. On the entry phones, Bloomberg's read is blunt: "the iPhone 18e and the iPhone 18 will likely receive an A20 chip and little else."

The bigger shift is timing. Apple is reportedly aligning the standard iPhone 18 with the 18e in spring rather than the September window it has occupied for years.
