Huawei Sets 2027 Launch for Ascend 960DT and 960PR AI Chips, Pushes UnifiedBus as Nvidia NVLink Rival

Huawei will ship the Ascend 960DT in Q1 2027 and the 960PR in Q3 2027, keeping a one-generation-per-year cadence for Ascend and slating the 970 for 2028 and 980 for 2029. Executive David Wang cast UnifiedBus, Huawei's chip interconnect, as core to next-gen large AI systems and pitched a system-level answer to Nvidia rather than a per-chip fight. TrendForce says the 960DT was pulled forward three quarters, with Atlas 960 SuperCluster targeted for Q4 2027 at 4 ZFLOPS FP4.
