Kiteworks Buys Israeli AI-Governance Startup Bonfy.AI to Add Runtime Controls Over Agent Data Flows

Kiteworks announced on September 11 that it acquired Bonfy.AI, an Israeli runtime data-classification startup that emerged from stealth last year with $9.5M seed. Bonfy's engine evaluates sensitive data at the moment of exchange across email, file sharing, APIs and AI-agent traffic, and Kiteworks will fold it into its Data Control Plane as the eighth acquisition in five years; industry estimates put the deal in the tens of millions.
