TL;DR

  • Israeli security firm Lava says it identified 32 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra B300 chips on monitoring systems linked to state-owned China Telecom.
  • The B300 is one of Nvidia's most powerful data-center chips and is barred from being sold to China under current U.S. export controls.
  • Lava spotted the chips through publicly reachable Nvidia DCGM Exporter instances with no authentication, part of roughly 2,100 exposed hosts worldwide.

Israeli security firm Lava says it identified 32 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra B300 chips on monitoring systems linked to state-owned China Telecom. The B300 is 'one of Nvidia's most powerful data-center chips' and is 'barred from being sold to China by U.S. export controls,' The Information reported.

The chips surfaced through publicly reachable Nvidia DCGM Exporter instances left on the internet without authentication. Lava's broader scanning turned up roughly 2,100 such exposed hosts reporting more than 12,000 unique GPUs across nearly 300 organizations, a mix of H100s, H200s, Blackwell Ultra B300s and consumer RTX 4090s and 5090s. CSO Online put the exposed hardware at more than $100 million.

Lava also disclosed a high-severity flaw in the same tooling, CVE-2026-47483, that lets an unauthenticated attacker exhaust the exporter and crash GPU monitoring remotely.

The China Telecom find lands alongside a separate October disclosure that a Chinese state-linked lessor financed more than 3 billion yuan of servers since August 2025, 'including 32 Asus systems equipped with Nvidia's B300 chips.' It is our 207th Nvidia story in the last 90 days, and the diversion thread has not slowed.
