Ligent Technologies is seeking as much as HK$5.7 billion, or $727 million, in a Hong Kong initial public offering, according to Bloomberg. The San Jose-headquartered, Hisense-controlled optical transceiver maker is offering 172 million shares at HK$32.96 apiece, with trading expected to begin Sept. 22 and subscriptions closing Sept. 17.
About 70% of its revenue comes from datacom transceivers, the modules that plug into switches and route light between racks of GPUs inside AI data centers. Revenue rose 27.7% in the first half of 2026, to 5.39 billion yuan, or $803 million, from 4.22 billion yuan a year earlier.
Nearly 30 cornerstone investors, including Primavera, Mirae Asset Securities and Barings, have committed to buy 47% of the offering. The deal is "adding to a surge of listings this year tied to the global artificial intelligence buildout," Bloomberg reported.
The precedent is mixed. In July, rival optical-transceiver maker Zhongji Innolight raised $6.81 billion in Hong Kong's largest IPO in seven years, only for shares to slip 5% on debut. It slots into our running coverage of the AI infrastructure buildout.
