Moore Threads Posts First Profit as Q3 Revenue Jumps 1,774%
TL;DR
- Q3 revenue hit roughly 1.6 billion yuan ($240 million), up 1,773.92% year on year, the fastest pace since Moore Threads listed last December.
- The chipmaker booked a 49.26 million yuan (~$7.4 million) quarterly net profit, its first, more than a year ahead of a 2027 target.
- Nine-month revenue reached 3.289 billion yuan, up 319.15% YoY, as AI startups and government bodies deployed the flagship MTT S5000 chip.
Chinese GPU startup Moore Threads said third-quarter revenue climbed to roughly 1.6 billion yuan ($240 million), a jump of nearly 1,800% year on year, Bloomberg reported. The company booked a quarterly net profit of 49.26 million yuan (about $7.4 million), its first, more than a year ahead of a 2027 profitability target.
Through nine months, revenue totaled 3.289 billion yuan, up 319.15% year over year, on cumulative net profit of 37.697 million yuan.
In its filing, the company said MTT S5000-based "intelligent computing products have earned widespread recognition for both model training and inference," crediting "robust industry demand for high-performance computing power and full-featured GPUs." Bloomberg reported that enterprise buyers deploying the flagship S5000 chip include AI startups and government bodies, and that the quarter marked the fastest sales clip since Moore Threads listed last December.
The S5000 also anchors a planned 100,000-card cluster that Moore Threads is building with JD Cloud, one of a run of domestic-silicon buildouts we have been tracking.
The quieter number sits one level below the income statement. A Substack analysis published this week carried the title "Moore Threads Turned a Q3 Profit on a Cash Outflow Bigger Than Nine Months of Sales." One quarter of GAAP profit does not resolve that gap.
