The first Multidisciplinary Workshop on NLP for Democracies (MultiDems) will co-locate with EACL 2027 in Athens, Greece, with paper submissions due December 23, 2026. The conference itself runs March 9–14, 2027; the workshop day inside that window is still TBA.

Scope is wider than a standard political-NLP track. The MultiDems workshop site lists computational social choice and preference aggregation, AI-assisted deliberation and debate summarization, fairness and bias in political NLP systems, argument mining, parliamentary and political NLP applications, and the ethics of deploying NLP in democracies, with a stated emphasis on "work that moves beyond predominantly US-centric, monolingual, or two-party settings."

A shared task on citizens consultations summarization closes earlier, on December 3, 2026. Acceptance notifications go out January 22, 2027 and camera-ready papers are due February 2. The overview page lists no individual organizer names; the contact point is [email protected].
