NTT Data in Final Talks to Build Anthropic's First Japan Data Center in Osaka at $6.3B and 500MW

NTT Data Group is in final-stage talks to build Anthropic's first dedicated Japan data center in Osaka, with construction costs reaching up to 1 trillion yen ($6.3B), per Nikkei Asia. The facility would have power intake of up to 500 megawatts — among the largest in Japan — with partial operations targeted for 2028. The two sides aim to sign by end of fiscal 2026 (March 31).
