Nvidia Debuts DSX Ready to Certify AI Factory Power and Cooling

Nvidia has certified its first outside partners for the physical guts of an AI factory. In a company blog post on Sept. 21, the company introduced DSX Ready, a qualification program that vets partner products against its DSX AI factory reference design. The first two categories are battery energy storage systems, where Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution and Tesla made the initial list, and cooling distribution units, where LG Electronics, LiquidStack and Vertiv qualified.

The rationale, per the post: "The value of a reference design grows when builders can connect it to specific products." BESS vendors submit qualification tests and data for Nvidia review; CDU vendors use a self-qualification suite. The blog notes that "additional categories across infrastructure and software will be rolled out over time."

Nvidia is careful to draw a line. "Passing qualification does not replace site-level engineering or imply site-level stability," the post says. It lands in a crowded stretch of AI-infrastructure news; our tracker also logged California's seven-bill data center package the same day.
