Nvidia Launches Open Agent Safety Platform, Splits Enforcement Between OpenShell Runtime and BlueField Sentry

Nvidia unveiled the Open Agent Safety Platform on Sept 28, pairing open-source OpenShell — a runtime that traces and policy-fences agent actions on Vera CPUs, extensible to Arm and Intel — with Sentry, an out-of-band BlueField-4 DPU watchdog that quarantines rogue agents in milliseconds. OpenShell is broadly available now; Sentry ships as a reference design. Launch partners span 100+ orgs including Anthropic, Microsoft, Palantir, CrowdStrike, Figure, Hugging Face and SpaceXAI.
