Nvidia Promotes Jensen Huang's Son-in-Law to Neocloud VP

Brookfield's Sikander Rashid relays what Jensen Huang told him about who to call at Nvidia: 'If you want something done, talk to Nico.' The Nico in question is Nico Caprez, 35, a former Swiss ski racer and BCG consultant who joined Nvidia in early 2024 and, according to The Information, was promoted to VP of global AI infrastructure growth in January, skipping senior director.

He is also Huang's son-in-law. Caprez married Madison Huang, Nvidia's senior director of product marketing for physical AI, in Hawaii in late September. Madison, Jensen's daughter, is the one who helped recruit him two and a half years ago.

Phoebe Liu's reporting casts Caprez as Huang's 'consigliere' and the main point of contact for neoclouds. He manages those relationships, co-leads Nvidia's Cloud Partner program, and this summer led Nvidia's minority stakes in two US firms that secure land and power for data centers.

The deal list is where it gets concrete. The Information credits Caprez with helping Blackstone and CoreWeave sign a $7.5B GPU-backed loan facility, and with work on August's $500B Blackstone-led financing plan under which Nvidia said it might back up to 25% of a project. In June he was behind Nvidia's credit support for Australian neocloud Firmus to buy 170,000 Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin chips (potentially over $15B) in exchange for a cut of future cloud revenue.
