OpenAI, MHESI open Bangkok accelerator for 10 Thai startups

OpenAI and Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation launched the OpenAI x MHESI AI Accelerator in Bangkok on August 28, an eight-week program that will take ten local startups working on health, wellness and education from prototype to product, OpenAI said.

The cohort splits five and five, medical and wellness AI on one side, education on the other. The named companies are CARIVA, Wello Food, Dietz, Precisionize, FitSloth, Curico, insKru, Floaino, EasyKids Robotics and Globish. Each team receives $2,000 in OpenAI API credits. Delivery partners are the National Innovation Agency, Mahidol University and Techsauce. Demo day is set for Bangkok in November.

OpenAI calls this its first public-private partnership with the Thai government focused on supporting local startups, and points to fast product uptake in the country: Thailand ranks among the top 20 countries globally for weekly active ChatGPT users, and weekly active use of its coding tool Codex there has grown more than 350-fold since the start of 2026.
