OpenAI to Give Ukraine Government Free Access to Daybreak and GPT-5.6 Sol for Critical Infrastructure Defense

OpenAI told the BBC it will provide Ukraine's government with free access to its Daybreak AI cyber-defense program and the GPT-5.6 Sol model to help defend civilian infrastructure. It extends the $1B Daybreak-for-Frontline-Defenders initiative — previously limited to US critical-infrastructure operators — to a wartime state actor, following OpenAI's stated plan to reach partner countries within weeks.
