Pew: 54% of Americans Now See Data Centers as Bad for the Environment, Up From 39% in January

A Pew survey of 10,548 US adults conducted July 20–August 9 found 54% now say data centers harm the environment, up 15 points from January, while 50% say they raise home energy costs (up 12 points) and 60% would be uncomfortable with a new local facility. Awareness climbed from 75% to 88%. Liberal Democrats show the strongest opposition at 81%, and rural residents recorded the largest shift on environmental concern (+18 points).
