Revolut Pilots 'Pay With Smile' Facial-Recognition Checkout at Three London Kiss the Hippo Cafes

Revolut is piloting a 'Pay with Smile' facial-recognition checkout at Kiss the Hippo cafes in Bloomsbury, Chelsea and Soho from Sept 24-26, verifying shoppers against onboarding ID checks on its Revolut Register POS. The neobank says merchants pay 0% processing fees on the flow and customers must opt in inside the Revolut app, with consent revocable. Revolut plans a broader rollout later in 2026 if the pilot performs.
