Adobe, Amazon, Workday Discount AI to Fend Off Anthropic, OpenAI

TL;DR

  • Adobe is offering free access to Firefly and Amazon is running 90-day free trials of its Quick AI assistant.
  • Workday is letting top customers use its AI platform free for a year; Microsoft is discounting Copilot subscriptions.
  • FICO CIO Mike Trkay said contracts without heavily discounted or bundled AI are no longer worth signing.

Amazon, Adobe, Microsoft, Workday, Figma and HubSpot are cutting prices on their in-house AI products or handing them out on extended free trials to stop customers from routing more of their AI budgets to Anthropic and OpenAI, The Information reported.

According to the reporting, Adobe is offering free access to Firefly, Amazon is running 90-day free trials of its Quick AI assistant, Figma has cut the price of credits for Figma Make, HubSpot is offering free trials of its Breeze Assistant agents, Microsoft is discounting Copilot subscriptions, and Workday is letting top customers use its AI platform for free for one year.

The pressure is coming from customers who have already lifted spending on Anthropic's Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex and are now slashing elsewhere to justify those bills. FICO CIO Mike Trkay told PYMNTS, citing The Information's account, that "if a vendor doesn't heavily discount or bundle it [AI capabilities] into their core license … it's a contract we really wouldn't sign anymore," adding that dozens of FICO's software providers have offered new AI capabilities at no added cost during recent contract renewals.

None of the named vendors disclosed the size of the underlying discounts or how many customers have taken the offers.
