SpaceXAI and Cursor ship Grok Bot beta on Mac, iOS, PC, Linux

The first joint shipment from the SpaceXAI-Cursor merger is not a coding model or a benchmark chart. It is a general-purpose agent app that logs into your accounts. 9to5Mac reports that the two companies released Grok Bot in beta on August 11, 2026, initially on Mac and iOS with Windows and Linux desktop versions also available and Android to follow.

The pitch, per the announcement, is "AI teammates you can give real work to." Each Bot gets its own computer, signs into the apps and services a user already relies on, and works across inboxes and other tools, only surfacing when approval is required. You can message a bot "like a colleague," and the agent is meant to remember prior conversations, learn preferences, and improve with more use. The landing page is x.ai/bot.

Access is deliberately narrow at launch. The beta is restricted to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers, keeping the rollout scoped to specific paid tiers on both sides. That is a reasonable way to hold down the "own computer per bot" resource load while the two firms are still in the process of combining.

A few things the write-up leaves open. It does not say which apps and services Grok Bot supports on day one, how many bots a subscriber can spin up in parallel, or what the security model looks like for handing an autonomous agent your login credentials. It also does not put a standalone price on the product outside those existing subscriptions. Given how busy the agents beat has been (439 alerts here in the last 90 days), those are the numbers a prospective enterprise buyer will want before rolling this into a workflow.

For the paying customer base, though, the immediate value is the collapse of "agent" and "assistant" into a single always-signed-in surface. If reliability holds up in real inboxes, xAI and Cursor have moved what these subscriptions buy from generating text to actually finishing work.
