Swedish AI Startup Scaleout Runs Autonomous Kill-Chain Drone on Jetson Orin Nano for NATO's ALMA

Swedish AI startup Scaleout Systems, an Uppsala University spin-off inside NATO's DIANA accelerator, ran a fully autonomous kill chain during BAE Systems Bofors' ALMA (Affordable Loitering Modular Ammunition) Winter Demo 2026. The drone used an onboard Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano to detect and geolocate multiple objects, rank an armored engineering vehicle as the priority target, autonomously fly to it, and release an explosive with zero external comms and no human input beyond a start button. Scaleout claims ~30ms sustained latency at 30 fps and about 20 m/s, with the full mission completing in under 320 seconds.
