Taiwan Ministry Ran 166 Chinese-Chip-Talent Probes and 67 Trade-Secret Cases Over Six Years

Taiwan's Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau closed 166 tech-transfer probes and 67 trade-secret cases over six years targeting Chinese firms allegedly hiding their ownership to poach chip talent, Rest of World reported Sept 2. Court records show 190 individuals charged in ~60 Hsinchu-office cases and all 36 public-court cases ended in Cross-Strait Act convictions; named subjects include Blue Ocean Smart System (SMIC-linked), Gongjin Electronics, VeriSilicon, Xiaomi and OnePlus founder Pete Lau.
