TypeSafe says Jev reaches 25% of Fortune 500, trillion tokens daily

TL;DR

  • TypeSafe CEO Diogo Almeida told the WSJ that Jev is now in use by roughly 25% of Fortune 500 companies.
  • Jev crossed a trillion tokens per day about a week ago, traffic Almeida calls 'non-fleeting' because servers, not people, drive it.
  • Cloudflare released open-weight Clef and Clef-flash on October 1 as direct challengers to Jev's decision-model slot.

TypeSafe CEO Diogo Almeida told the Wall Street Journal that Jev, the lab's three-week-old decision-only model, is now in use by roughly 25% of Fortune 500 companies, and that daily traffic hit a trillion tokens about a week before the piece ran.

"we were at a trillion tokens per day about a week ago," Almeida said. He described the traffic as "non-fleeting," churning constantly because servers, not people, are making the calls. That is the shape of load you get when a model is wired into automated software rather than sitting behind a chat window.

Jev launched September 15 as a System One model that returns probabilities and confidence scores instead of generating text token by token. The WSJ frames the piece around copycats: Cloudflare released Clef and Clef-flash on October 1 as open-weight challengers, positioned as Jev-API compatible so teams that already integrated Jev can swap one in without rewriting calling code.

Both traction figures come from Almeida alone. The WSJ does not define what counts as "in use" in his tally, and Cloudflare's claim to beat Jev on three of four evals rests on TypeSafe's own eval suite rather than any independent benchmark.
