VSMC Opens $7.8B Singapore Fab With Full Capacity Already Sold Out, Second Plant in Planning

Vanguard International Semiconductor's Singapore joint venture with NXP inaugurated its 300mm advanced fab on Sept 28, with capacity already fully booked ahead of Q1 2027 volume production. VIS is already planning a second Singapore facility, driven by demand for silicon interposers used in advanced AI-chip packaging. The plant is targeted to reach 44,000 wafers per month in 2029.
