The suit was filed in August 2025 in the Northern District of Texas and accused Apple of "conspiring to unlawfully monopolize markets for smartphones and generative AI chatbots" by exclusively integrating ChatGPT into Apple Intelligence features on iPhones and other Apple devices. A federal judge denied Apple and OpenAI's motions to dismiss in November 2025, letting the case advance toward discovery.
Musk's companies said they will continue to pursue claims against OpenAI, which remains a defendant in the same lawsuit.
