BBC Feature: China Now Runs Over 2 Million Factory Robots as Aging Workforce Fuels Automation Push

A BBC on-the-ground feature reports that more than 2 million industrial robots are now working in Chinese factories — more than anywhere else — and that China produces over half of the world's industrial robots. Around 120 million people still work in Chinese manufacturing, and Beijing is racing to automate before demographics catch up: by 2035 more than a third of China's population will be 60+, and the country is projected to lose nearly 60 million people over the next decade.
