Fortune/YouGov: Only 3% of US Workers Have Lost a Job to AI Since 2023, 6% Landed AI-Created Roles

Sociologist Jeffrey Dixon's YouGov survey of 1,250 US workers between July 30 and August 4 found just 3% said they had lost a job to AI since 2023, while roughly 6% landed roles that didn't exist before AI and 9% got AI-related promotions. Dixon writes that four years after ChatGPT's debut, 'AI is not having widespread effects on the labor market today,' undercutting both AI-doom and AI-hype narratives.
