r/LocalLLaMA: Apodex-1.0 Smol Models (0.8B, 2B, 4B Open-Weights, MIT) Released for Independent Verification in Long-Horizon Agentic Tasks

Apodex released open-weight Smol models in three sizes (0.8B, 2B, 4B) optimized for independent verification of other agents' outputs in long-horizon tasks, rather than task execution itself. The research premise is that dedicated lightweight checker models improve reliability in production agentic pipelines where hallucination and off-task behavior carry real cost. Model weights and the companion AgentHarness evaluation suite are available on HuggingFace under MIT license.
