Wired reports OpenAI employees have collectively donated more than $215,000 to the Guardrails Alliance, a new tech-worker-backed super PAC seeking stricter AI rules that positions itself directly against Leading the Future, the $100M+ anti-regulation PAC bankrolled in part by OpenAI president Greg Brockman and his wife Anna's $25M personal contribution. Employees pressed executives in internal meetings starting May 2026 about the company's perceived ties to Leading the Future, prompting a June 1 statement distancing OpenAI from the group. Guardrails currently has ~$5M and is targeting $15M this cycle around candidates like Alex Bores whom LTF is opposing.
