AM Intelligence Seeks $3B Debt for Nvidia Rubin Order
TL;DR
- AM Intelligence is seeking as much as $3 billion in bonds and bank loans to finance its Nvidia Vera Rubin chip order, Bloomberg reports.
- The company has ordered 9,000 Nvidia Rubin GPUs as Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems for 30 MW of capacity in Hyderabad, delivery slated for Q1 2027.
- A further $300 million in advance payment is expected from potential offtakers, on top of the $3 billion debt package.
AM Intelligence, an Indian AI infrastructure firm set up by the founders of renewable energy producer Greenko Group Plc, is seeking to raise as much as $3 billion to pay for its previously announced order of Nvidia's next-generation chips, Bloomberg reported.
The funding package "could comprise of bonds and bank loans, among others," according to the Bloomberg report as carried by Business Standard. The firm also expects to get $300 million in advance payment from potential offtakers.
The order itself is not new. In August the Hyderabad-based company said it had placed a firm and binding order for 9,000 Nvidia Rubin GPUs, deployed as Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems for 30 MW of capacity, with delivery slated for the first quarter of 2027. It was billed as one of Asia's first frontier AI compute clusters, under an $8 billion project.
AM Intelligence has described the Hyderabad site as the first tranche of a planned 1 GW of Compute-as-a-Service capacity spread across India, the United States, Finland and Malaysia, with an initial 200 MW targeted for near-term deployment. The facility is being designed to support trillion-parameter AI models.
Talks on the financing are still in the initial stages and terms could change. Neither the Bloomberg story nor the follow-on reporting names an arranging bank or an offtaker. The news lands the same day as reporting that Nvidia itself is weighing guarantees on billions in Nscale debt tied to an Anthropic compute deal, one of 450 AI infrastructure stories we have tracked in the last 90 days.
