Apple Ships iOS 27.2, Adds Siri AI Memory and Five Languages

Apple AI Assistants ai-business

TL;DR

  • iOS 27.2 gives Siri AI contextual memory so it can recall prior conversations, like restaurants it recommended the week before.
  • Siri AI now pulls from Messages photos, Calendar attendees, voicemails, Safari history and Reading List, with a per-app access toggle.
  • Siri AI expands to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish but remains unavailable in the EU and mainland China.

Apple released iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, the first major updates to the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 operating systems that came out in September, MacRumors reported.

The headline change is Siri AI's new memory. "Siri AI can recall your past conversations, so you can ask Siri about something it told you before, like the restaurants it recommended last week," Apple's release notes say. The assistant can also "draw from more sources," including "photos attached in Messages, Calendar event attendees, your voicemails, and better results from Safari history and Reading List."

A new Excluded Apps setting "lets you choose which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access, all from one setting." Siri AI expanded to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. It remains unavailable in the EU or mainland China.
