Arcee AI closed a Series B of at least $150M at a $1B pre-money valuation, co-led by Vista Equity Partners, Cambium Capital and Emergence Capital with Microsoft's M12, Hitachi and Wipro joining. Founder Mark McQuade says the lab trained four open-weight models — including the 400B-parameter Trinity Large — for roughly $20M, and claims benchmarks matching Mistral and beating Llama 3.
