Browser Company Shuts Down Arc on December 22 as AI-First Dia Takes Over

The Browser Company confirmed Oct 22 that Arc stops working on Mac and Windows on Dec 22 and will delete deactivated-account data within 30 days, with AI features and sign-in on iOS/Android cutting out Nov 23. New Arc accounts can no longer be created as of Thursday. The company blamed the cost of keeping a browser secure 'in the age of AI' and is steering users to Dia, its AI-first browser, with export tooling in the final Arc release and Spaces/vertical-tabs features carried over as 'Profiles.'
