Bill Lennon's privacy-focused AI assistant Ollie will stop running on November 6, 2026, weeks after announcing a $7.5 million seed round led by Khosla Ventures in September, TechCrunch reported.
The subscription app connected to users' email and calendar and handled appointment booking, meal planning, and bill payments, with household budgeting on the roadmap. It had also cleared SOC 2 compliance through an independent audit, a privacy marker not often earned in the consumer AI assistant category.
"We got close, but ultimately couldn't keep up," Lennon, Ollie's co-founder and CEO, wrote in the shutdown note. "With Muse, Instinct, and others entering the space, it became harder to stand out, grow, and raise the capital we needed to succeed."
Users will receive data export instructions and refunds in the coming days.
Lennon's closing line: "I'm really proud of what we accomplished. We built an incredible personal assistant with a small team, and learned a ton."
