Warp Adds Programmable Agents to Its AI-Native HR Stack

Warp, the New York-based HR startup run by founder and CEO Ayush Sharma, has released Warp 2.0 and a new product called Warp Agent that lets customers configure automated routines in natural language, SiliconANGLE reported. The routines handle employee onboarding, tax compliance, benefits administration and payroll setup, and can run on a schedule or fire on events such as an accepted job offer.

"We're taking the AI platform and the agents that we have been building and giving that to our customers firsthand," Sharma said. The pitch is unusually direct about the target incumbent: "We believe we are building what comes after Workday."

A preconfigured Monday executive report bundles payroll, schedules, compliance risks and hiring trends into a single briefing. Warp estimates that high-growth companies typically spend between 10 and 20 hours managing a new hire during the first 30 days, with customers reporting the same work now taking less than two hours. Prices begin at $35 per person per month, with basic tiers capped on usage and higher tiers receiving larger allocations. Warp has raised $85 million in total, including a $60 million round in June.

Administrators assign permissions for what each agent can do, all activity is logged for audit, and irreversible actions such as payroll runs carry additional restrictions with exceptions escalated to a human. The framing arrives during a busy stretch for the category. Dataiku shipped agent-management tooling the same day, aimed at the sprawl problem these guardrails are meant to head off.
