xAI's Grok 4.7 Goes Live on Amazon Bedrock With 500K Context

TL;DR

  • Grok 4.7 is available on Amazon Bedrock with a 500K-token context window and four reasoning-effort levels: low, medium, high, and xhigh.
  • AWS cites Artificial Analysis figures showing the Intelligence Index up to 46 from 44 and the Coding Agent Index up to 56 from 47 versus Grok 4.6.
  • Average output per task roughly doubles to about 81K tokens from 38K, consistent with xAI's pitch that the model works longer on hard problems.

Grok 4.7 is now available on Amazon Bedrock, AWS said in a machine-learning blog post, "adding a frontier model built for coding, long-running agents, and knowledge work to the Bedrock model catalog." The model ships with a 500K-token context window, text and image input, and four reasoning-effort settings (low, medium, high, and xhigh) reached through the inference profiles us.xai.grok-4.7 and global.xai.grok-4.7.

"According to xAI, it's their most capable model for coding and knowledge work: it works longer on difficult tasks and verifies its own output more carefully before moving on," AWS writes, pointing to a training run "deliberately weighted toward problems that take many hours to complete."

AWS cites Artificial Analysis figures for the upgrade: an Intelligence Index of 46 versus 44 for Grok 4.6, a Coding Agent Index of 56 versus 47, and an AA-Briefcase Elo of 1,657 versus 1,546. Average output per task rises to roughly 81K tokens from about 38K, matching a model tuned to grind rather than sprint.

Access runs through the Responses, Chat Completions, and Converse APIs, across Standard, Priority, and Flex service tiers. It lands on a Bedrock catalog that just opened Amazon's own seller tools to Claude via the same runtime.
