#PositConf2026 (via the #RPharmaSummit2026 pre-game) has already been worthwhile for introducing me to Kimi K3 in Posit AI Pass! So far it's good, fast, and relatively cheap. This is what I get for skipping any of @simonpcouch.com 's blog posts! opensource.posit.co/blog/2026-0…
I've had some helpful/hopeful replies in this thread (eg bsky.app/profile/hadl...). I also finally read this blog by @hadley.nz substack.com/home/post/p-... , and I wish he'd done part 1 of that talk one more time at #PositConf2026! It would've helped to offset some of the oth…
I stopped reading @hadley.nz 's design substack religiously when it switched to all ai, but I just took another look and tidydesign.substack.com/p/y-code-whe... is extremely heartening.

I've been feeling pretty down. When I found #RStats, I kinda fell in love, and decided to become as much of an expeRt as I could be. In the age of AI, that's not a good idea; why make the bots program in a language they don't really understand? #dataBS
We've previously featured commercial-business-related datasets on #TidyTuesday, (eg promoting a conference). Due to an influx of AI-generated submissions intended to promote products and services, we are no longer accepting submissions promoting commercial businesses, products, or services.
When I use agentic coding on my side projects, it's fun & effective. It feels like I'm still doing work I enjoy and producing quality code, just faster. When I use agentic coding for my actual job, it often drains me. It feels like my job has fundamentally changed for the worse. I'm not sure why.
Seeing the difference in how the same agentic AI models in the same IDE perform differently on different projects, it hit me that AI is like the super soldier serum in the MCU: "The serum amplifies everything that is inside, so good becomes great; bad becomes worse."
