I’m glad AI companies are making efforts to at least appear open to working with mathematicians and other scientists, but it is striking that there weren’t similar efforts, even pro forma ones, to partner with writers, artists, and musicians. Even for movies, they had to be brought to the table
OpenAI briefed a bunch of media companies on GPT-6 Astra's release with an embargo time of 2pm ET… then quickly deleted scheduled blog posts with customer testimonials on its own site. I am betting we will see a late blitz from the company in twenty minutes
Nobody's making an AI agent to get regular employees automatically reimbursed for their business expenses because that requires access to somebody else's money (and systems and paperwork and taxes etc). There are lessons in this

It's good for me professionally because I'm an AI reporter but I think it's bad for the technology industry and especially the technology consumer that all tech and tech business news is now AI news
$12 billion is a lot of money but it’s weird that the Los Angeles Lakers are only as valuable as a mid-tier pre-IPO AI startup
