One of the things that's happening in haptics rn: all the companies who were making VR hardware a few years ago have pivoted hard to selling those same devices as teleoperation solutions with some sort of AI component sprinkled on top.
Watched Backrooms with my dad last night, which involved him starting it 15 minutes before I sat down ("you didn't really miss much"), me having to repeat most of the dialogue bc he won't get a hearing aid & the bootleg doesn't have subtitles, and then him reading me an AI explanation after.
