Nvidia Backstops Up to $105B for OpenAI's 10GW Ohio Data Center on SoftBank's SB Energy Campus

An SEC filing shows Nvidia agreeing to guarantee up to $105B in lease and power obligations at a 10-gigawatt Pike County, Ohio data center that OpenAI has leased for 20 years, with the first 800MW slated to come online by 2028. Nvidia is also investing $1.5B in SoftBank subsidiary SB Energy, which will build, own and operate the campus on a decommissioned uranium-enrichment site about 50 miles south of Columbus. Total project cost including chips could exceed $500B, making it the largest data-center commitment on record and Nvidia's biggest financing guarantee to date, surpassing prior CoreWeave backstops.
