Smack Technologies Raises $61M Series B Led by Costanoa Ventures to Deploy Tactical AI at the Edge

Smack Technologies, a defense AI startup founded by former MARSOC operators, closed a $61M Series B on Aug 18 led by Costanoa Ventures and First In with participation from Point72 Ventures, Felicis, Bloomberg Beta and Sapphire Ventures. The round brings total capital to over $90M and will fund proprietary hardware to deploy Alpha, Smack's tactical AI platform, in comms- and compute-constrained warfighter environments. Follows the Pentagon flagging Anthropic as a supply-chain risk in March.
